Manufacturing CPR Training for Safer Workplaces

If you run a manufacturing operation in Ajax, the easiest way to get your team CPR-ready is to have us come to you. Heart Starters Inc. delivers WSIB-approved CPR training at your facility, so there is no classroom to book and no travel for your people. Sessions are hands-on, so your team leaves confident to act. Every course runs for a group of 10 or more.

CPR Training: Why Does It Matter In a Manufacturing Workplace?

In a cardiac emergency, every second counts. On a busy plant floor, the first person to reach a coworker in trouble is usually another coworker. CPR training means that person already knows what to do: recognize the signs of cardiac arrest, give chest compressions and use an AED.

Our sessions are scenario-based and hands-on, built around those exact skills. Your team practices realistic emergencies, so they feel ready to act when it counts.

What Are the WSIB First Aid Requirements for Manufacturing?

WSIB-approved workplaces must have trained first aid personnel on hand during normal business hours. The number depends on your headcount and your hazard rating. For most workplaces, the requirement starts at five employees.

Here is how it breaks down per shift:

  • 1 to 5 workers per shift: Basic (Emergency) First Aid with CPR AED Level C
  • 6 or more workers per shift: Intermediate (Standard) First Aid with CPR AED Level C

For higher-hazard workplaces, including the manufacturing industry, the requirements may increase, often with more first aiders per shift regardless of headcount.

A common mistake made by employers is treating these as a per-building number. It’s per shift, so if you have two shifts, you need qualified coverage for each one, not just one trained individual who is off shift by 3 pm.

One more point to keep straight. The five-employee figure is the workplace requirement. The 10-person figure is the minimum group size for Heart Starters Inc.’s on-site training. They are two different numbers and must not be confused.

What On-site Training At Your Ajax Facility Looks Like

There is no fixed training location; we come to your workplace. We offer flexible scheduling for businesses. If you have fewer than 10 people to train, you can bring in a few colleagues from another department to reach the minimum.

Depending on what your workplace needs, you can choose either Basic (Emergency) First Aid with CPR AED Level C or Intermediate (Standard) First Aid with CPR AED Level C.

CPR AED Level C is already part of both Basic and Intermediate First Aid courses, so one course covers both.
